CHANGHUA, Taiwan (CNA) - Changhua County Magistrate Wang Mei-hui said today that she welcomes TSMC to set up a factory in the Erlin section of the Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP). She stated that the county government will go all out to assist if needed, adding that Changhua has many TSMC-related supply chain manufacturers, making it very suitable for TSMC to invest, and she believes it will greatly benefit the local area in the future.

According to media reports, supply chains have indicated that a company under the TSMC group is planning to invest in a new封測 (packaging and testing) plant in the CTSP Erlin Park and will submit an investment application soon. In response, Wang Mei-hui, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of the Yuandou Police Station of the Fangyuan Precinct of the Changhua County Police Bureau today, told reporters after the event that she welcomes TSMC and will absolutely go all out to assist if the county government's help is needed.

Wang Mei-hui pointed out that the outflow of population from Changhua in recent years is related to industry. Currently, about 40 companies have set up operations in the CTSP Erlin Park, and there is still plenty of land available to attract more companies. The county government looks forward to more companies setting up operations to drive local development and allow talented young people to stay and develop in Changhua.

Furthermore, Wang Mei-hui mentioned that she hopes the central government will expedite the review of the Erlin Precision Machinery Industrial Park development project and also requested the Ministry of Transportation to accelerate the construction of the Provincial Highway 76 expressway to make transportation to the CTSP Erlin Park and the Erlin Precision Machinery Industrial Park more convenient.

This morning, Wang Mei-hui, along with Changhua County Police Bureau Director Chen Shih-huang, Fangyuan Precinct Chief Huang Yi-hang, and Erlin Township Mayor Tsai Shih-chieh, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of the Yuandou Police Station office building. The original building, constructed in 1982 and used until now, has exceeded its service life. After demolition and reconstruction, the new building will feature energy-saving and green designs, covering an area of 210 ping (approximately 760 square meters). It will be a two-story building with outdoor space available for parking for the public. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2027.

The Police Bureau stated that Erlin Township is an important economic hub in the southwestern region of Changhua County, and the officers of the Fangyuan Precinct and Yuandou Police Station have a synergistic effect in assisting with the security maintenance of the CTSP.
