Vice President Hsiao pointed out that the development of fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology is changing trade models. Taiwan is committed to developing digital transformation and net-zero transformation. In terms of digital transformation, it is strengthening infrastructure, expanding digital public services, and promoting "AI industrialization" and "industrial AI-ization" to ensure balanced development across all industries and assist small and medium-sized enterprises in adapting to the changing global environment.
Vice President Hsiao mentioned that Taiwan is also committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, viewing environmental responsibility as an economic opportunity through energy transition, green technology, and industrial innovation.
Vice President Hsiao stated that to fully realize the vision of digital transformation, close international cooperation is needed. Taiwan will work closely with AFACT and jointly promote secure and trustworthy digital trade with regional economic partners to strengthen regional connectivity.
Hsu Tien-tsai, Chairman of the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research and current AFACT Chairman, told reporters that although this event is only for a few days, a half-day visit to the Southern Taiwan Science Park has been specially arranged.
