The Legislative Yuan issued a press release today stating that the "Congressional Diplomacy Promotion Visit to the United States" delegation visited the TSMC Arizona plant on the afternoon of June 22nd, Phoenix time. Upon arrival, they first held discussions with over 10 TSMC supply chain companies that have invested in the U.S., listening to their experiences in establishing and operating factories in the U.S., and exchanging views on issues such as talent recruitment, regulatory adaptation, construction costs, and visa applications.
The Legislative Yuan stated that the attending legislators were highly concerned about the challenges faced by Taiwanese businesses investing in the U.S. In addition to carefully listening to the companies' sharing, they also expressed their intention to reflect these concerns to relevant U.S. agencies in a timely manner to help remove investment obstacles and promote U.S.-Taiwan industrial cooperation.
The Legislative Yuan pointed out that the delegation subsequently met with TSMC Arizona CEO Dr. Rick Tsai and his team to understand TSMC's construction plans in Arizona and to engage in in-depth exchanges on talent cultivation, technology and production capacity, and the impact of U.S. investment on Taiwan's industrial development.
Dr. Rick Tsai stated that TSMC's investment in the U.S. is primarily to meet customer demand, and emphasized that the most advanced manufacturing processes and core research and development will continue to be rooted in Taiwan. In the future, TSMC will continue to strengthen its three major competitive advantages of "technology leadership, manufacturing excellence, and customer trust," working hand-in-hand with supply chain partners to enhance industrial competitiveness. The delegation also toured the plant site to understand the construction progress. (Editor: Chang Chun-mao, Lin Shu-yuan) 0623
