Typhoon Fig Forms, No Direct Impact on Taiwan

Taipei, June 23 (CNA) The Central Weather Administration announced the formation of a typhoon at 9:40 AM today. A tropical depression located east of Guam developed into a tropical storm at 8:00 AM, designated Typhoon No. 8, Fig (international name: HIGOS).
