(Central News Agency, reporter Lin Qiaolian, Kaohsiung, June 24) The Kaohsiung City Youth Bureau has launched the "Xiong Ting Li" Youth Entrepreneurship Loan Interest Subsidy Program. The first phase of applications for this year will begin on July 1st. The Youth Bureau stated that eligible applicants can receive a loan interest subsidy of up to NT$2 million for a maximum of 5 years.
The Youth Bureau issued a press release today stating that to help young entrepreneurs reduce financial pressure and operate steadily, the "Xiong Ting Li" Youth Entrepreneurship Loan Interest Subsidy Program has been launched for four consecutive years. Eligible young entrepreneurs in Kaohsiung can receive a loan interest subsidy of up to NT$2 million for a maximum of 5 years, easing the financial burden in the early stages of entrepreneurship.
Youth Bureau Director Lin Kaixuan stated that young entrepreneurs often face pressure from fundraising and operating costs in the early stages of their ventures. Through the support of the "Xiong Ting Li" program, it is hoped that entrepreneurs can dedicate more effort to product research and development, market expansion, and brand management, thereby increasing the success rate of their businesses.
The Youth Bureau pointed out that since the promotion of "Xiong Ting Li" in 2023, it has assisted young entrepreneurs in diverse industries such as catering, cultural and creative industries, technology, and green energy. Applicants must be registered residents of Kaohsiung City for at least 3 months, be between 18 and 45 years old, and have their company established or business registered in Kaohsiung City for less than 8 years.
Eligible applicants can apply for the "SME and Startup Administration Youth Entrepreneurship Loan" at any branch of Mega International Commercial Bank in Kaohsiung (excluding simple branches) or the Kaohsiung Bank main branch. After the loan is approved, they can apply for the "Xiong Ting Li" interest subsidy, and the subsidy will be directly transferred to the applicant's account, making the process simple.
Several beneficiaries have stated that the "Xiong Ting Li" interest subsidy effectively reduced their financial burden during the early stages of their businesses. Illustrator ericoco from "Little Tiger Day Studio" said that the creative industry requires continuous investment in creativity, as well as facing operational and market expansion costs. The interest subsidy effectively reduced financial pressure, allowing creators to focus more on content creation and brand management.
Another beneficiary, Fan Yuhui, who founded "Chill Mood Bakery" selling bagels, said that the Youth Bureau provided various resources to assist the brand from setting up stalls to establishing a physical store, including brand consulting and loan interest subsidies. This allowed the business owner to purchase equipment and raw materials, and continue to invest in product research and development and market expansion. (Editor: Zhang Mingkun) 1150624
