NSC Approves 8 Investment Projects, Boosting Competitiveness with CPO and Semiconductor Materials

(CNA, Reporter Pan Tzu-yu, Taipei, June 25) The National Science and Technology Council (NSC) Science Park Review Committee today approved 8 investment projects, covering industries such as integrated circuits, communications, and precision machinery. In particular, technologies related to the semiconductor industry continue to deepen, which will help enhance competitiveness and ensure Taiwan maintains a leading edge in the fiercely competitive global AI market.

The NSC Science Park Review Committee today approved 8 investment projects, one of which is not publicly disclosed, with a total investment of NT$5.78 billion. In addition, there were 5 capital increase cases, totaling NT$53.2 billion.

The approved investment projects include Hengxin Analysis Technology Co., Ltd. and Hantex Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. Tongke Branch for the integrated circuit industry; Weiyuan Technology Co., Ltd. and Hesheng Technology Co., Ltd. Zhunan Branch for the communication industry; T.D.S. Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. Zhuke Branch for the precision machinery industry; Zhulu Applied Materials Co., Ltd. Qiao Ke Branch for the innovation industry; and Xinya Zhongkang Energy Co., Ltd. for park businesses.

The NSC press release stated that Hengxin Analysis Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Hsinchu Science Park, Hsinchu Park, has an investment of NT$600 million. Its main products are semiconductor failure analysis-related technical services such as Advanced Sample Preparation and Analysis (ASPA), Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA), and Physical Failure Analysis (PFA).

The NSC pointed out that the establishment of this company will help enhance the park's high-end semiconductor analysis and testing service capacity, strengthen the autonomy of advanced process technology, and enhance the overall competitiveness of Taiwan's semiconductor industry.

Hantex Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. Tongke Branch, located in the Tongluo Park of the Hsinchu Science Park, has an investment of NT$350 million and focuses on developing high value-added functional surface engineering technology. The NSC believes that the establishment of this project in the park will help improve domestic autonomous surface engineering technology, reduce the dependence of domestic high-end equipment key components on foreign coating and material services, and enhance the international competitiveness of the semiconductor equipment and materials industry.

Hesheng Technology Co., Ltd. Zhunan Branch, located in the Zhunan Park of the Hsinchu Science Park, has an investment of NT$200 million and possesses key optical component technology for Silicon Photonics Co-Packaged Optics (CPO). This advantage allows it to directly meet the stringent demands of international first-tier customers, providing highly integrated solutions for advanced applications such as AI data centers and CPO.

The NSC stated that this project will not only significantly improve the company's overall operational performance but also demonstrate a strong commitment to deepening the Taiwanese silicon photonics industry chain. It is expected to drive technological development and high-level talent cultivation in the domestic optoelectronics and semiconductor packaging fields, ensuring Taiwan continues to maintain a leading edge in the fiercely competitive global AI market.

Zhulu Applied Materials Co., Ltd. Qiao Ke Branch, located in the Qiaotou Park of the Southern Science Park, has an investment of NT$180 million. Its main products are the research and development and manufacturing of high-value aluminum nitride powder.

The NSC believes that after its establishment in the park, the company will continue to deepen its research and development of advanced aluminum nitride powder material technology, strengthen the autonomous supply capacity of key semiconductor materials, and promote the domestic production and localization of high-end advanced materials.

In addition, Weiyuan Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Central Science Park, has an investment of NT$200 million.
