(Taipei, June 25 — Reporter Jiang Mingyan) Largan Precision has been actively acquiring equipment and real estate since April this year to meet growing production capacity demands and integrate its manufacturing sites. In addition to its core smartphone lens business, the industry is optimistic about Largan’s strategic expansion into CPO (Co-Packaged Optics), with mass production preparations gaining momentum.
On June 24, Largan announced plans to acquire real estate assets to support future capacity expansion. This includes two land parcels in Wenshan Section, Nantun District, Taichung City, totaling approximately 1,461.075 ping, and a building located at No. 19, Industrial Zone 21st Road, Nantun District, Taichung City, covering about 1,532.425 ping. The total transaction value amounts to NT$628 million.
Largan has been steadily expanding its production capacity. On June 15, it announced an equipment purchase from Han’s Laser with a total value of approximately NT$647 million. On May 5, it acquired factory engineering and equipment from Zhongrui Engineering for about NT$503 million. On April 20, it obtained factory infrastructure and equipment from Yangkee Engineering, with an investment of approximately NT$1.544 billion.
Due to securities reaching the threshold for public attention on the centralized trading market, Largan disclosed its April earnings: net profit attributable to owners of the parent company reached NT$1.831 billion, a year-on-year increase of 88.54%. Earnings per share were NT$13.95, up 91.88% from the same period last year.
The industry believes that beyond its smartphone lens business, Largan’s aggressive move into CPO will soon bear fruit. Chairman Lin En-ping recently stated the goal of completing the first automated pilot production line by September 2026, with major potential customers already planning site visits.
Lin emphasized that Largan will focus on FA (Fiber Array) and MLA (Micro Lens Array) as core products and is also considering integrated supply of FAU (Fiber Array Unit). Internal testing shows Largan’s FA precision has achieved below 0.3 micrometers, surpassing industry standards. Leveraging its high-precision and multi-layer stacking technology advantages, the company aims to drive FA products toward mass production. (Editor: Zhang Junmao) 1150625
