Pingtung suspends work and classes from 2 PM due to heavy rain; county government advises returning home after floodwaters recede

(CNA, Pingtung County, June 25) The Pingtung County Government announced today that due to heavy rainfall brought by a southwest monsoon this morning, many areas in the county experienced flooding and traffic disruptions, posing a disaster risk. Therefore, all work and classes throughout the county will be suspended starting at 2 PM.

The Pingtung County Government stated that after the rain eases at 2 PM today, all work and classes in the county will be suspended. To ensure the safety of travel, the public is advised to remain in safe locations and wait until the floodwaters and rain have both subsided before returning home, depending on the receding flood situation.
