(CNA reporter Yu Hsiao-han, Taipei, June 24) Starlux Airlines announced today that it will completely update its in-flight meals starting July 1, introducing the long-established Japanese okonomiyaki specialty restaurant "Chibo" for the first time and launching special temari sushi for flights departing from Fukuoka, Japan.
Starlux Airlines issued a press release today stating that starting July 1, it will comprehensively upgrade its in-flight dining offerings. The new menu is themed around "Interpretation of Local Culture" and "Authentic Foreign Flavors."
Starlux Airlines said that from July 1, passengers traveling in premium economy and economy class on flights departing from Osaka, Japan, to Taipei can enjoy okonomiyaki from the long-established specialty restaurant "Chibo," founded in 1973 and originating from Sennichimae, Osaka. In the future, takoyaki, omelet fried noodles, and other representative Kansai dishes will also be successively introduced.
In addition, Starlux Airlines stated that temari sushi has been added to the online meal selection menu for business class on the Fukuoka to Taipei route. This time, six types of sushi blend traditional craftsmanship with modern creative ingenuity.
Starlux Airlines said that for first-class meals on U.S. routes, the menu continues to be planned by Chef Kai Ho of the Michelin three-star restaurant "Taïrroir." This season's theme is "Modern Interpretation of Local Flavors," incorporating Taiwanese street food elements with Fine Dining details, such as savory soy milk and oyster omelets, which will be served at high altitudes.
