Kaohsiung City experienced intense rainfall this morning. The Cijin, Meinong, and Neimen areas of the Cijin region received rainfall at the level of extremely heavy rain in a short period, with localized areas experiencing flooding. Around 11 AM, as the rainfall gradually subsided, the flooding in the Cijin region began to recede.
Due to the southwest monsoon rain band lingering in the mountainous areas of Cijin, the rainfall has continued for about 6 hours. Cijin district recorded 104 millimeters in one hour and 185 millimeters in three hours, causing localized flooding in areas such as Cijin. The Kaohsiung City Government Water Resources Bureau is continuously monitoring rainfall and water levels and has activated pumping stations and flood prevention response mechanisms.
