(CNA reporter Wang Hong-kuo, New Taipei, June 29) An industrial accident occurred at a construction site on Jieshu Road in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, around 10 AM today. A worker was suspected of being electrocuted and lost vital signs at the scene. Firefighters responded to the emergency, provided first aid, and transported the worker to the hospital. The city government's Labor Inspection Office has been notified to investigate the cause of the accident.
The Sanchong Precinct stated in a message that preliminary information indicates the incident occurred at a building construction site. A 55-year-old man surnamed Chen was suspected of being electrocuted during construction, losing breathing and heartbeat at the scene. Firefighters were notified and have transported Mr. Chen to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Police stated that after emergency rescue efforts by firefighters at the scene, the man regained a heartbeat en route to the hospital. He is currently receiving intensive care.
