(Central News Agency, Taichung, June 29) The Taichung City Fire Bureau received a report this evening that a building at National Chung Hsing University had caught fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and found smoke billowing out. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished without any casualties. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have started from an office air conditioner. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the police and fire department.

The Taichung City Fire Bureau received a report at 7:06 PM this evening about a fire in a building at National Chung Hsing University in the South District. Fire engines and personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters stated that the building involved in the fire is a 10-story above-ground, 1-story basement concrete structure. Smoke was seen billowing from the 9th floor. The fire was extinguished at 7:27 PM, and there were no casualties.
