(CNA reporter Wang Hong-kuo, New Taipei, June 29) The New Taipei City Department of Transportation announced today that starting July 1, all metered roadside motorcycle parking spaces will be open for large motorcycles to park in. The parking fee will be NT$30 per instance, offering greater flexibility and convenience for large motorcycle riders.
The Department of Transportation issued a press release stating that from July 1, when large motorcycles park in metered roadside motorcycle spaces, the charging method will be the same as for dedicated large motorcycle parking spaces, with a per-instance fee of NT$30 for a maximum of 4 hours.
The Department of Transportation stated that when large motorcycles are parked in motorcycle spaces, their bodies must not extend beyond the parking lines. If a motorcycle is longer, it may occupy two spaces, and the fee will be the same as for one space, but it must be parked within the lines to maintain parking order and road safety.
The Department of Transportation said that large motorcycle riders can choose metered roadside motorcycle spaces in each administrative district according to their needs, which will make parking smoother, reduce the time spent searching for a spot, and minimize traffic interference.
