(CNA) Hsinchu, June 29 – Realtek Semiconductor Corp. today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Crime Victim Protection Association Hsinchu Branch. Starting this year, the company will donate NT$500,000 annually for 10 consecutive years to assist severely injured crime victim families in the Hsinchu area with medical rehabilitation and long-term care.

Chen Chin-hsing, chairman of the Crime Victim Protection Association Hsinchu Branch, and Huang Yung-fang, vice chairman of Realtek Semiconductor, signed the memorandum of understanding for the "Severely Injured Victim Medical and Long-Term Care Support Program." Ke Yi-fen, prosecutor general of the Taiwan Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office, witnessed the signing and stated that Chen Chin-hsing is one of the founders of Realtek Semiconductor and has continuously supported crime victim protection work for many years, also contributing to the association's operations and system development.

Ke Yi-fen said that Realtek Semiconductor's participation in crime victim protection work demonstrates the company's corporate social responsibility and expressed hope that more corporations and private forces will engage in judicial protection work in the future.

Chen Chin-hsing said the dedicated funds will be used for medical rehabilitation, daily care, and long-term support for severely injured victim families in the Hsinchu area, helping to alleviate the economic pressure borne by these families due to long-term care.

He added that the cooperation includes promoting the "Severely Injured Victim Medical and Long-Term Care Support Program," planning assistance items such as subsidies for diagnosis and rehabilitation and daily care allowances. This will help severely injured victim families cover expenses for medical rehabilitation, assistive devices, and daily care, and provide living support for cases of long-term disability requiring family care.
