(CNA Lima June 29, Comprehensive Foreign Reports) Peru held its second round of presidential elections on June 7. After several weeks of vote counting, the electoral authorities completed the process today, with the final results showing that conservative candidate Keiko Fujimori has won by a very small margin.
According to Reuters, the final vote count results from the Peruvian electoral authorities indicate that Keiko Fujimori secured 9,223,396 votes, achieving a 50.135% approval rating. She narrowly leads the leftist candidate Roberto Sanchez, who received 9,173,755 votes, or 49.865%.
