(CNA, reporter Wu Ruiqi, Taoyuan Airport, June 29) The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Kaneko, and his spouse led a delegation to visit Taiwan today. Kaneko said at Taoyuan International Airport that the Marshall Islands will continue to support Taiwan's meaningful participation in the United Nations system and other international organizations, and hopes to deepen bilateral cooperation and friendship.

The Kaneko delegation, consisting of 7 people, is visiting Taiwan from June 29 to July 3 at the invitation of the government. They arrived at Taoyuan Airport by plane in the evening, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Grace Chen was at the State Guest Gate to welcome them.

Kaneko said that he conveyed the most sincere greetings on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and expressed his honor to visit the Republic of China, Taiwan. He sincerely thanked the government and people of Taiwan for their warm welcome and kind invitation to him and the delegation members.

Kaneko stated that this year marks the 28th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two sides, and their partnership is flourishing. Everything is built on shared democratic values, mutual respect, and a common commitment to human rights and the rule of law. He deeply cherishes this enduring friendship and the many achievements they have realized together.

Kaneko said that the Republic of the Marshall Islands has always been a steadfast friend and ally of Taiwan. In the future, they will continue to support and promote Taiwan's meaningful participation in the United Nations system, as well as other regional and international organizations where Taiwan can contribute to the international community.
