(CNA) Taipei, June 30 - The Taipei District Prosecutors Office today launched two anti-vote buying campaign videos, "The Scheme" and "Caught," hoping to remind the public to stay vigilant through clear and easy-to-understand messages. The office also urges citizens to actively report any intelligence regarding illegal activities that may disrupt elections.

"Caught" focuses on criminal acts such as spreading fake news and influencing the fairness of elections, illustrating the legal responsibilities that come with illegal behavior.

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office stated that these two anti-vote buying campaign videos will be broadcast in high-traffic areas including the Taipei Dome Stadium, the Guanghua Digital Plaza light wall, the Banqiao Bus Station light wall, the New Taipei Bus Station television, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Xinyi Store A8, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Xinyi Store, Taipei Xinyi Vieshow Cinemas, and the baggage claim areas of Taoyuan Airport Terminals 1 and 2.

In the future, these videos will be simultaneously broadcast in all 1,250 PX Mart stores and 7,100 7-Eleven stores nationwide. The office will continue to contact other anti-vote buying channels to expand the campaign's reach, encouraging the public to work together to create a high-quality election environment.

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office statistics show that a total of 37 pieces of intelligence regarding election disruption have been reported by various investigation agencies to date. Among these, 7 cases have been confirmed and their investigations concluded, resulting in 2 indictments, 4 deferred prosecutions, and 1 non-prosecution. The remaining cases are still under investigation.

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office urges the public to actively report any intelligence regarding election disruption. In addition to a maximum reward of NT$10 million for reporting vote buying, there is a maximum reward of NT$20 million for reporting foreign interference in elections and a maximum reward of NT$5 million for reporting election betting pools. The public is encouraged to work together to eliminate election fraud and achieve the goal of "fair elections, safeguarding democracy."
