(CNA, Taichung, June 30) The Taichung District Prosecutors Office announced today that a team leader surnamed Chen from a Taichung City Police Bureau's detective division, suspected of drug-related offenses, was arrested and brought in for questioning. After interrogation on June 28, prosecutors determined there were grounds and necessity for detention, and the court approved his detention and denial of visitation.

The Taiwan Taichung District Prosecutors Office stated today that a prosecutor was directed by the Taichung City Police Bureau to investigate a case involving a detective team leader surnamed Chen from a certain police division. He is suspected of violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention and Control Act and other offenses. Police were directed to execute a search and arrest Chen on June 27.

After interrogation by the prosecutor, it was determined that Chen was a major suspect for violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention and Control Act and other offenses, and that there was a risk of flight, destruction, fabrication, or alteration of evidence, and collusion with co-defendants or witnesses.
