(CNA, Taipei, June 30) The Taipei City Department of Information and Tourism announced today that the "2026 Dadaocheng Summer Festival" will be held from July 25 to August 15 at Dadaocheng Wharf and Yanping Riverside Park. Director Yu Xiang stated that for the first time, the international IP Spider-Man will be combined with drones and fireworks, with two performances: the opening and the finale.

As summer arrives, the Department of Information and Tourism has released information that the "2026 Dadaocheng Summer Festival" will take place from July 25 to August 15 at Dadaocheng Wharf and Yanping Riverside Park, in collaboration with Sony Pictures' Spider-Man for an exhibition.

Yu Xiang said that the Dadaocheng Summer Festival is Taipei's most iconic summer event. This year, it will feature the first-ever "International IP x Fireworks x Drones" exhibition, which will take place at 8 PM on July 25 for the opening and August 15 for the finale. The event will feature a 20-minute fireworks and light show combined with a drone performance, where Spider-Man will traverse the night sky of Taipei City accompanied by the original movie soundtrack.

She also recommended the weekday themed fireworks show on August 5 at 8 PM. The duration of the fireworks display has been extended from 6 minutes in previous years to 8 minutes, incorporating shaped fireworks, cross-fan fireworks, and artisanal eight-layer core fireworks, showcasing an artistic effect of "layers blooming with each burst." There will also be long-hanging weeping willow fireworks, all promising a refreshing visual experience.

Yu Xiang mentioned that each fireworks show will be accompanied by musical performances. This year, popular musicians such as Wendi Wander and Sweet John, along with other Golden Melody Award-winning and highly popular artists, will perform. On the afternoon of August 1, a local music feast and IP activities will be held at Yongle Plaza, blending the old city with modern trends.

The Department of Information and Tourism added that a 9-meter giant Spider-Man mascot, a 180-meter-long themed waterfront light corridor, and an interactive installation called the "Retro Upside-Down House" that combines Dadaocheng's retro architecture with local elements will be set up at the event site and in the Dihua Street area. Local businesses will also offer promotional activities. (Editor: Li Xizhang) 1150630
