(CNA reporter Wang Bao'er, Taipei, June 30) The main venue of the Osaka Expo last year, "The Great Roof Ring," built with a wooden structure, became one of the highlights that attracted public attention. Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts announced today that an exhibition by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto will arrive in Taiwan in August, and a partial architectural model of the "Great Roof Ring" will also be displayed.

The Great Roof Ring at the Osaka Expo was certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest wooden building, and the architect behind it was Sou Fujimoto. Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts held a media preview today to announce its 10th-anniversary series of events, with "Sou Fujimoto: Architecture and Nature, Future and Future" opening on August 15th.

Huang Shanshan, Director of Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts, told the media that Sou Fujimoto's exhibition had previously been held in Tokyo, Japan. The biggest difference in this overseas tour's first stop is bringing the "Great Roof Ring," known as "Ooyane," to Taiwan. A 1:5 scale model will be exhibited in the finished product warehouse of the Jianguo Brewery, initiating a dialogue between past and present.

"Sou Fujimoto: Architecture and Nature, Future and Future" is expected to be divided into the main exhibition area of Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts and the satellite exhibition area at Jianguo Brewery. Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts is collaborating with the Mori Art Museum in Japan to present the essence of Sou Fujimoto's 30 years of creation, and will also bring other models and manuscripts.

This international collaborative exhibition will kick off the 10th-anniversary series of events for Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts. Huang Shanshan stated that Taiwan has entered an era where museums are abundant. Compared to institutions that prioritize hardware first, Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts' greatest difference lies in prioritizing content and team. The "Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts 10th Anniversary Exhibition" (tentative title), scheduled for March 2027, will correspond to Taiwan's contemporary museum ecosystem with 26 exhibitions over 10 years.

In 2027, another major international collaborative exhibition will take place. Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts will join forces with the Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University in New York to hold a joint exhibition of contemporary Taiwanese artists in the United States. This exhibition will explore the resilience of Taiwanese society, which has developed in response to its dual vulnerability as a geopolitical and geographical fault line.

Furthermore, on the milestone of its 10th anniversary, Zhongtai Museum of Fine Arts will launch the "Zhongtai Academy of Architecture: Architectural Curation Talent Development Program." Li Yanliang, Executive Director of the Zhongtai Foundation, said, "From the foundation to the museum, we have been promoting architectural culture for nearly 20 years. We deeply understand the importance of professional talent for the environment and hope that the talent development program will bring new blood to the environment and inject sustainable momentum into Taiwan's curatorial environment."
