(CNA, Changhua, June 30) The Huatán Township Office in Changhua County had originally planned to distribute NT$6,000 in economic stimulus payments to each resident by the end of May. However, the distribution has not yet occurred. Township Chief Gu Sheng-min stated that considering the financial resources, they must wait for the final accounts review and approval, and for surplus funds to be confirmed, before persuading relevant departments. The distribution date will be announced in the coming days.

The Huatán Township Representative Assembly in Changhua County recently passed a motion recommending that the township office distribute NT$10,000 in economic relief funds to each resident to promote local development and ensure the welfare of the residents. After considering factors such as financial status and the annual budget, the township office deemed it feasible and is researching the distribution of NT$6,000 per person. Calculated based on Huatán Township's population of 42,000, the total distribution amount would be approximately NT$258 million.

To facilitate the NT$6,000 distribution, the Huatán Township Office proposed a draft ordinance titled "Huatán Township, Changhua County Measures to Stabilize Civilian Resilience in Response to International Situations Triggered by the US-Iran War and Stimulate the Economy." After the draft was submitted to and approved by the Huatán Township Representative Assembly, the township office originally planned for the earliest possible distribution by the end of May.

As the township office has not yet distributed the NT$6,000, there have been rumors circulating locally. Gu Sheng-min explained the distribution progress on Facebook today. He clarified that the township office needs to hold a township affairs meeting for discussion and also report to the county government for approval. Receiving the county government's approval letter for record in May would make the distribution legally compliant.

Gu Sheng-min pointed out that in addition to legal compliance, financial resources must also be confirmed. The township office is waiting for the township representative assembly's regular meeting at the end of May or early June to review and approve the final accounts, ensuring there are surplus funds. After persuading relevant departments to cooperate with the distribution of the stimulus gift money, the township office will, along with village administrators, the Farmers' Association, the Police Bureau, and relevant staff, jointly decide on the distribution time and location. Detailed information will be announced in the coming days. (Editor: Chen Ren-hua) 1150630
