TPBL Announces Draft List, Half-Taiwanese American Adam Hinton Likely Top Pick

(CNA, Reporter Li Jianzhong, Taipei, June 30) The Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL) today announced the list of players for the 2026-27 season rookie draft. Among them, Adam Hinton (賀丹), the older of the Hinton brothers with Taiwanese and American heritage, is confirmed to be on the list and has a strong chance of being selected by the Kaohsiung Aquas, who hold the first pick.

Back in May of this year, Adam Hinton, who had already graduated from Cornell University in the United States, told CNA that he would prepare to challenge the professional stage. At the time, he indicated he would seek development in the U.S. but did not rule out returning to Taiwan to join a professional league.

As expected, Adam Hinton is on the list of 30 rookies announced today by the TPBL. Due to his immediate impact potential, excellent physical condition, and athletic ability, he is very likely to be a hot candidate for the top draft pick.

According to the final standings of the last TPBL season, the last-place Kaohsiung Aquas hold the first pick, followed by the Taipei Taishin Mars, New Taipei CTBC DEA, Hsinchu Toplus Lioneers, Taoyuan Taiwan Beer Leopards, New Taipei Kings, and Formosa Dreamers in order.
