(Central News Agency, Reporter Chang Chi, Hualien County, July 1st) Starting today until August 31st, Taroko National Park is launching a limited summer "Taroko Terrace Treasure Box" guided tour activity. There will be 4 sessions daily, no prior registration is required, and professional volunteers will lead a 40-minute exploration of the ecological trails.
The Taroko National Park Headquarters stated today that the Taroko Visitor Center and the surrounding Taroko Terrace trails are suitable for visitors of all ages. Volunteer interpreters were trained starting in May this year, and limited free guided tours are being offered during the summer vacation.
The Taroko National Park Headquarters stated that the "Taroko Terrace Treasure Box" guided tours will be held daily at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, with 4 sessions in total. Participants should gather at the upper hall service desk of the Visitor Center 30 minutes before the activity starts. No advance registration is needed.
The Taroko National Park Headquarters also mentioned that in conjunction with the summer activities, they have planned 4 stamp collection missions at the Visitor Center's secret base, including listening to explanations, watching videos, and painting. Completing the missions allows participants to redeem limited promotional items.
Furthermore, in line with the National Park Service of the Ministry of the Interior's promotion of the "Low-Carbon Sustainable Hiking" concept, the Datong-Dali Trail in Taroko National Park has been selected as one of the demonstration routes.
The Taroko National Park Headquarters stated that the Datong-Dali tribal area is a Taroko indigenous village, accessible only by foot, and without electricity supply. It serves as a relay point for those heading to Mount Liwu, Mount Qianliyan, and Mount Qingshui.
The Taroko National Park Headquarters explained that the Datong-Dali tribal route combines Taroko indigenous culture with a Leave No Trace hiking experience. Along the way, visitors can see the Datong Dali Chapel and old houses, enjoy the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean from the Mount Liwu viewing platform, and arrange to experience activities such as rattan weaving, bamboo rice making, and guided tours.
The Taroko National Park Headquarters encourages the public to take advantage of the summer to put down their phones and escape the hustle and bustle of the city, to walk into the Datong-Dali tribal area, and to experience the purest natural beauty under the starlit sky without artificial lights.
