(CNA Washington, July 1, 2015) A jobs report released today by the US integrated computing and business outsourcing provider ADP showed that the number of new jobs added in the US private sector in June fell short of analyst expectations, with varied performance across industries.
According to the report, known as the "mini-non-farm payroll," the US private sector added a total of 98,000 jobs in June, lower than the 110,000 forecast by economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal.
According to Agence France-Presse, the official employment report will be released tomorrow following ADP's data release. Analysts will be closely watching to assess the economic conditions of the world's largest economy under the pressure of Middle East conflicts.
The 98,000 jobs added in June, as reported by ADP today, also showed a significant slowdown compared to the 122,000 jobs added in May. The report stated, "Job growth in June was uneven."
Financial activities and information industries saw growth, while leisure and hospitality continued to show weak job growth for the sixth consecutive month.
Nela Richardson, ADP's chief economist, added in a statement, "We know that the time it takes to find a job has lengthened, but some industries are also showing signs of limited labor supply."
"For now, the overall impact is a slowdown in job growth." (Compiled by Yang Zhaoyan) 1150701
