(CNA, reporter Zeng Tingxuan, Hanoi, July 2nd) Three major international industrial exhibitions opened simultaneously in Hanoi yesterday, marking an unprecedented scale. Intelligent Asia made its debut in Hanoi, Vietnam, with active participation from Taiwanese manufacturers demonstrating their innovative strength and supply chain advantages. Liu Shih-chung, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, stated that Taiwan has become an important partner for Vietnam in promoting industrial upgrading.

The opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting for the 14th Hanoi International Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition (HanoiPlas 2026), the 13th Hanoi International Printing and Packaging Industry Exhibition (HanoiPrintPack 2026), and the 2026 Intelligent Asia Hanoi Exhibition (Intelligent Asia Hanoi 2026) were held on the 1st.

Liu Shih-chung, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, was invited to attend, witnessing the exhibition's inauguration alongside Vietnamese government officials, industry and commerce associations, and international industry representatives. This demonstrated Taiwan's firm commitment to continuously deepening Taiwan-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation, promoting smart manufacturing, and strengthening regional supply chain partnerships.

The scale of this year's international industrial exhibitions is unprecedented in Hanoi. The three exhibitions are jointly showcasing over 15,000 square meters of exhibition space, bringing together over 400 companies from more than 10 countries including Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Italy, Spain, India, and China. The exhibitions are jointly supported by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Trade Promotion Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (VIETRADE), relevant units of the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, and major industry associations in Taiwan and Vietnam, highlighting their significant importance.

The Intelligent Asia Hanoi Exhibition, held in Hanoi for the first time, focuses on three core areas: automation technology, electronics manufacturing, and precision processing. Combined with the two specialized exhibitions on plastics and rubber and printing and packaging, it fully connects the smart manufacturing industry chain, reflecting Vietnam's active promotion of industrial upgrading, smart factories, digital transformation, and high-tech manufacturing development.

More than 60 Taiwanese companies are exhibiting, showcasing the latest technologies in smart manufacturing, automation equipment, precision machinery, electronics manufacturing, industrial components, and integrated solutions. This fully demonstrates Taiwan's innovative strength and comprehensive supply chain advantages in high-end manufacturing, smart factories, and industrial integration.

After the opening ceremony, Liu Shih-chung visited the Taiwanese companies' exhibition area to understand their participation and engaged in discussions with Vietnamese government officials, industry and commerce associations, and enterprise representatives on topics such as smart manufacturing, supply chain cooperation, digital transformation, and investment opportunities.

On the evening of the 1st, the "TAIWAN SELECT NIGHT" was held, attracting over 100 guests, including participating Taiwanese businesses, representatives from Vietnamese industry and commerce associations, and business professionals.

In his speech, Liu Shih-chung stated that Taiwan and Vietnam have established a deep and trusting economic and trade partnership over many years. Taiwanese companies have long been deeply involved in Vietnam, not only bringing capital but also technology, talent cultivation, management experience, and global market linkages, making Taiwan an important partner for Vietnam in promoting industrial upgrading.

Facing global supply chain restructuring, rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, and digital transformation trends, Taiwan will continue to leverage its high-tech manufacturing and innovative R&D advantages to work with Vietnam to build a more resilient and higher value-added regional supply chain. Together, they will promote smart manufacturing, green transformation, and sustainable development, and explore new business opportunities in the global market.

He emphasized that Taiwan is not only an important investment partner for Vietnam but also a trustworthy partner for mutual growth. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam will continue to uphold the Team Taiwan spirit, combining the strengths of the government, industry, and private sector to assist Taiwanese companies in deepening their presence in the Vietnamese market and strengthening bilateral partnerships in areas such as smart manufacturing, high-tech industries, digital economy, and supply chain cooperation, thereby continuously injecting new momentum into Taiwan-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation.

After his speech, Liu Shih-chung interacted with participating exhibitors one by one, inquiring about the investment and operational status of Taiwanese businesses in Vietnam, and exchanging views on smart manufacturing, supply chain cooperation, and market development trends. The atmosphere was enthusiastic, showcasing the close cooperation and deepening exchanges between the industries of Taiwan and Vietnam. (Editor: Chen Cheng-kung) 1150702
