(CNA Taipei, July 2nd) Industry statistics show that 67,330 motorcycles were registered in Taiwan in June, an increase of 9.4% from 61,541 in May and 11.7% higher than the 60,285 registered in the same period in 2025. Cumulative registrations for the first six months of this year reached 363,422, an increase from 330,231 in the same period in 2025. Industry insiders indicate that market demand continues to heat up, entering the peak sales season of summer.
Looking at individual brands, Sanyang registered 30,489 units in June, capturing a 45.3% market share. Kwang Yang registered 16,969 units, with a 25.2% share. Yamaha registered 11,631 units, holding a 17.3% share, and Gogoro registered 4,068 units, accounting for a 6% market share.
Gogoro stated that its June registrations hit a 19-month high, an increase of 13% from 3,600 in May and a significant 37.1% rise from 2,967 in the same period last year. This growth is mainly attributed to improvements in operational efficiency and the arrival of new models, driving a continuous climb in sales performance.
Observing the electric motorcycle market, industry sources report a steady upward trend. June sales reached 4,691 units, an increase of 9.8% from 4,273 in May, but a decrease of 6.4% from 5,014 in the same period last year.
Cumulatively for the first six months of this year, Sanyang registered 156,972 units with a 43.2% market share. Kwang Yang registered 94,151 units, holding a 25.9% share.
