(London, July 3, CNA, Foreign News) Novak Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, has once again made Wimbledon history by successfully advancing to the fourth round of the men's singles. Meanwhile, defending champion Jannik Sinner easily defeated Jenson Brooksby to smoothly reach the last 16.

According to AFP, Djokovic defeated French player Arthur Rinderknech 7-5, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4) on Centre Court, equaling Roger Federer's record for the most match wins in Wimbledon men's singles history.

Furthermore, Djokovic also matched Federer's record for the most appearances in the Wimbledon men's singles last 16 since the Open Era began in 1968, reaching the fourth round for the 18th time.

Djokovic said, "It is an immense honor and privilege to make history in this sport, especially here... Wimbledon has always been my dream tournament."

At this year's Wimbledon, Djokovic is challenging for his 25th Grand Slam singles title. If he wins, he will surpass Margaret Court to become the first in history, while also equaling Federer's record of 8 Wimbledon men's singles titles.

On the other hand, world No. 1 Sinner displayed overwhelming strength, defeating Brooksby 6-4, 6-3, 6-4, marking his fifth appearance in the Wimbledon last 16.

The four-time Grand Slam champion did not perform at his best in his first two matches this week, but his performance improved significantly against Brooksby.

He said, "I work to improve every day, and today was another small step forward. If I want to go further in this tournament, I have to get better."

Last year, Sinner defeated Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz in the final, ending Alcaraz's two-year consecutive Wimbledon championship reign. (Compiled by Hsu Rui-cheng) 11507040
