Summer Music Cello Ensemble Travels to Slovakia for Performance, Wins Silver Award at Music Festival

(Central News Agency, Reporter Liu Yu-ting, Prague, July 3) Taiwan's Summer Music Cello Ensemble traveled to Slovakia to participate in the 15th International Youth Music Festival & Bratislava Summer Music Festival, where they won a silver award in the adult string ensemble competition. This achievement showcases Taiwan's musical charm and the results of cultural exchange between Taiwan and Slovakia.

According to a press release from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Slovakia, the Summer Music Cello Ensemble was recently invited to participate in the 15th International Youth Music Festival & Bratislava Summer Music Festival. Through the delicate and warm tones of their cello ensemble, they presented the charm of original Taiwanese music to an international audience.

The ensemble, led by Music Director Wang Suh-Huey, performed works such as "Puppet Theatre Caprice" by Taiwanese composer Lee Che-Yi, the Taiwanese folk song "Fragrance of the Night," and the Taiwanese Mandarin songs "Looking Back Again" and "The Last Tenderness."

On July 1st, the Summer Music Cello Ensemble held their first performance in Slovakia. Representative to Slovakia Li Nan-yang visited the venue to cheer on the members. Li Nan-yang stated that music is an important bridge that transcends language and culture. He expressed his hope that this exchange would deepen Taiwanese-Slovak friendship and allow more international friends to recognize Taiwan's rich and diverse cultural characteristics and artistic energy.
