Taipei, July 4 (CNA) -- Starlux Airlines' "Sorayama Silver" art jet, a collaboration with Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, was delivered in France on July 3. Chairman Chang Kuo-wei will personally pilot the aircraft back to Taiwan, with an expected arrival at Taoyuan Airport at 11:05 AM Taiwan time on July 5.

The "Sorayama Silver" art jet, with aircraft registration B-58553, a product of the STARLUX AIRSORAYAMA art project between Starlux Airlines and Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, was officially delivered on July 3 French time. Chairman Chang Kuo-wei led a delegation to the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, to attend the delivery ceremony.

Starlux Airlines announced in a press release that Chang Kuo-wei will personally fly the "Sorayama Silver," symbolizing the fusion of art and aviation craftsmanship, from France back to Taiwan. The flight is scheduled to depart at 3:00 PM local time on July 4, with an expected arrival at Taoyuan Airport at 11:05 AM Taiwan time on July 5.

To celebrate the delivery of Starlux Airlines' "Sorayama Silver" art jet, the airline stated that a grand delivery ceremony was held with Airbus at their Toulouse headquarters. The ceremony venue was meticulously designed as a high-end art product launch event, creating an immersive atmosphere with large metallic reflective surfaces, flowing lights, and exclusive sound effects. Not only was "AIRSORAYAMA Silver" officially unveiled, but "AIRSORAYAMA Gold" also made a surprise appearance, heralding the magnificent chapter of the art jets.

Starlux Airlines CEO Zhai Jianhua stated that the project took three years to prepare and the execution process was extremely complex. Every party demonstrated an unwavering pursuit of excellence in all details, ultimately succeeding in materializing this cross-border aesthetic and bringing an unprecedented visual feast to travelers.

The "Sorayama Silver" aircraft livery inherits Sorayama's iconic metallic luster aesthetic, with silver as the main theme and gold as an accent. The "AIRSORAYAMA" collaboration logo is precisely applied to the fuselage, belly, wingtips, and top of the aircraft. The wingtips also subtly incorporate delicate metallic gradients, while the belly features flowing lines transitioning into the design inspired by Sorayama's classic work, "Sexy Robot Shark."

Starlux Airlines pointed out that the biggest challenge in this design was the "fuselage color." To overcome the limitations of carbon fiber fuselages and aviation regulations, Starlux Airlines, Airbus, and paint manufacturer Mankiewicz spent months on research and development. Using "high-concentration special mica" and a multi-layer coating process, they broke through traditional painting limitations, perfectly recreating the cool, liquid metal texture of Sorayama's works. This achievement, while ensuring flight safety, represents the ultimate pursuit of craftsmanship in an artistic creation.

To celebrate the return of "Sorayama Silver" to Taiwan, Starlux Airlines announced the launch of the "STARLUX AIRSORAYAMA A350-1000 1:200 Aircraft Model." The "Sorayama Silver" and "Sorayama Gold" models will be available for the first time at the Starlux Pop-up Store starting at 9:00 AM on July 5. They will be sold at the flagship store on July 6 and will be available on the duty-free pre-order website béshopping on July 11. (Editor: Li Hengshan) 1150704
