(CNA, Kaohsiung, July 4) Kaohsiung youth创业 brand "YOUNGA" is fostering cross-border connections between Taiwanese and Lao craft communities through natural dyeing, fair trade, and international social design, promoting sustainable consumption and creating employment opportunities for rural women in Laos.

The Kaohsiung City Government Youth Bureau announced in a press release today that Liang You-ping, founder of "YOUNGA," was deeply inspired after encountering traditional dyeing and weaving communities in Laos in 2014. She dedicated herself to researching natural dyeing and weaving culture, establishing cooperative relationships with local craft communities. Through a fair trade model, she supports local women's employment and craft inheritance, building a bridge for cross-border cultural exchange and ethical trade.

Lin Kai-hsuan, Director of the Youth Bureau, recently visited the YOUNGA studio to learn about the brand's achievements in brand upgrading through the Bureau's "Competitive Youth Entrepreneurship Subsidy Program."

Lin Kai-hsuan stated that in recent years, an increasing number of young entrepreneurs have integrated sustainable concepts into their brand operations, pursuing market growth while also creating social impact. The Youth Bureau continues to provide subsidies and guidance resources to help distinctive and principled youth entrepreneurship brands expand their market visibility.

The Youth Bureau said that "YOUNGA" has built a youth entrepreneurship brand that combines sustainable concepts with market characteristics through natural dyeing, fair trade, and cultural inheritance, showcasing the diverse landscape of youth entrepreneurship. In the future, it will continue to accompany more innovative youth entrepreneurship brands in their steady growth through various youth entrepreneurship guidance and subsidy resources, injecting more sustainable momentum into Kaohsiung's development.

Liang You-ping stated that the brand's operational philosophy aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through fair trade, natural dyeing, and cultural translation, it establishes a sustainable business model where humans and nature, culture and industry coexist for mutual benefit. The brand has received accolades such as the 2021 "Kaohsiung Design Festival" Local Design Brand award, the 2023 La Vie Taiwan Creative 100 Social Practice Award, and has participated in the Taiwan Cultural and Creative Expo from 2021 to 2025, continuously promoting natural dyeing crafts and the concept of sustainable living.

Liang You-ping mentioned that the entire production process, from planting to dyeing and weaving, uses no chemical substances. Many customers have shared feedback that their children and pets love these natural textiles, which have become the brand's most interesting and heartwarming everyday stories.

The Youth Bureau indicated that with the support of competitive youth entrepreneurship subsidies, YOUNGA has recently completed brand identity optimization, website construction, professional image shooting, and equipment upgrades, further enhancing the brand's visibility and operational capacity.
