(Central News Agency, Taipei, July 4) The Wei Chuan Dragons secured their second win of the second half of the season with an 11-2 victory over the Fubon Guardians, reigniting their offense and bringing their season series record to 7-7. Kuo Tien-hsin was a key contributor with two hits and three RBIs, expressing his desire to find an advantage.

The Dragons' offense ignited in the first inning, sparked by leadoff hitter Kuo Tien-hsin's triple, scoring three runs. After the Guardians narrowed the gap to one run in the bottom of the fourth, Kuo Tien-hsin's two-RBI single extended the lead to 5-2. In the seventh inning, he drove in another run with a groundout with the bases loaded.

The Dragons and Guardians were tied 6-6 in the first half of the season. After losing their first game of the second half yesterday, the Dragons avenged the loss today. Kuo Tien-hsin told reporters after the game that the Guardians' top of the lineup is very threatening, and he focuses particularly on them. "Being able to tie the series shows the games are exciting. I hope we can regain the advantage."

Dragons starting pitcher Tseng Jen-ho pitched five innings, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out five batters, but also issuing four walks. Head coach Yeh Chun-chang stated that it was unfortunate for Tseng Jen-ho, as he started well but his ball count increased later, and he needs to make adjustments.

The Dragons brought in rookie Huang Ko-cheng in the seventh inning. He pitched one inning in his career debut, retiring all three batters he faced without allowing a run and striking out two. Yeh Chun-chang commented that Huang Ko-cheng performed very well, but there is still room for improvement in his velocity. In the ninth inning, despite a large lead, the team deployed their key reliever Chen Kuan-wei. Manager Yeh explained that Chen Kuan-wei had not pitched for some time and needed to regain his feel for the game. (Editor: Huang Ming-hsi) 1150704
