(CNA, Taipei, July 6) -- SYM Motor’s Marketing Department Assistant Manager Chuang Kuang-pin estimated today that the peak season effect in the Taiwanese motorcycle market is expected in the second half of the year. This year, new motorcycle registrations in Taiwan are projected to grow by 10% compared to 2025. SYM aims for a 10% increase in its annual sales volume in the Taiwan market, maintaining a market share exceeding 40%.

SYM unveiled its All New JET SL/SL+ sport models in Taichung this afternoon. During a brief media interview, Chuang Kuang-pin stated that SYM plans to achieve a monthly sales target of 6,000 to 7,000 units for the All New JET SL/SL+.

Looking ahead at the Taiwanese motorcycle market conditions for this year and the second half, Chuang Kuang-pin pointed out that based on past experience, the second half of the year is typically a "big month," meaning sales are boosted by the summer holiday peak season, and sales volume in the second half will be better than the first half. The Taiwanese motorcycle market grew by 10% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2025. It is anticipated that the Taiwanese motorcycle market will grow by 10% this year compared to 2025, with 40% of the models being high-end.

Regarding SYM's performance this year, Chuang Kuang-pin expects SYM's motorcycle sales volume in the Taiwan market to grow by 10% compared to last year, with an annual sales target of 330,000 units and a market share of at least over 40%.

On the progress of electric motorcycle deployment, Chuang Kuang-pin indicated that SYM continues to align with government policies and is developing its electric motorcycle strategy, hoping that the charging infrastructure for electric motorcycles can continue to expand.

According to statistics, in June, SYM's motorcycle registrations in the Taiwan market were 30,489 units, with a market share of 45.3%. Cumulatively, SYM's registrations for the first six months of this year reached 156,972 units, with a market share of 43.2%. In the first six months of this year, total motorcycle registrations in Taiwan were 363,422 units, an increase of 10.05% compared to 330,231 units in the same period of 2025.

At its shareholders' meeting at the end of June, SYM stated that its main operating theme for this year is "stability," maintaining a stable operational foundation while actively seizing growth opportunities, with "seeking progress amidst stability" as its operating principle. This year's business objectives include maintaining the number one market share in the Taiwan motorcycle market and exceeding 750,000 units in global motorcycle sales annually.
