TAIPEI, July 6 (CNA) -- With the rapid rise in demand for low-altitude defense, Taiwanese drone system integration company JC Tech announced today that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with a globally renowned defense radar enterprise, securing exclusive distribution rights for its AI Active Electronically Scanned Array (AI AESA) Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) radar products in the Taiwan market.
JC Tech stated that the agreement will facilitate the integration of proprietary drone platforms, AI edge computing, and advanced low-altitude radar technology to create a comprehensive low-altitude defense solution with capabilities in attack, defense, and system integration. The two parties also agreed to collaborate on Original Design Manufacturing (ODM), establishing localized production of "counter-drone radar" in Taiwan. This will enable the integration of domestically produced drone technology with counter-drone systems for global supply, tapping into opportunities in non-Red supply chains and the counter-drone market.
JC Tech explained that this marks the first time Taiwan has achieved a complete offensive and defensive integration of "attack drones + counter-drone radar." This cross-border collaboration signifies a further advancement in Taiwan's drone defense technology and is an important milestone for the Asian non-Red supply chain. Through the deep integration of JC Tech's proprietary drone technology and counter-drone radar systems, a one-stop solution can be provided, encompassing low-altitude threat detection, target identification, tracking, and countermeasures. This forms a complete defense system with both "spear" and "shield" capabilities, applicable to military defense, airports, ports, energy facilities, and other critical infrastructure, aligning with global trends of de-risking and trustworthy supply chains.
JC Tech indicated that after integrating drones with AI AESA counter-drone radar, it can effectively detect small drones of the 35 cm class with a detection range exceeding 10 kilometers. It also possesses all-weather, multi-target tracking, and AI identification capabilities.
To meet modern asymmetric warfare demands, JC Tech employs a modular design that allows for rapid configuration of different payloads for various missions, including tactical reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, precision strikes, and inspection. The products have undergone verification in high-intensity conflict environments and have attracted active inquiries for cooperation from government and defense agencies in Japan, South Korea, the United States, the Middle East, and other Asian countries.
To accelerate overseas market expansion, JC Tech recently partnered with Taiwanese optical film design and manufacturing companies, ProOptics and Lightelligence, to establish Oplus Group. This group integrates optical modules, energy systems, AI edge computing, and drone manufacturing capabilities to offer comprehensive low-altitude defense and intelligent inspection solutions.
