Taiwan stocks close down 224 points, volatile over 900 points, 47,000-point level lost again

(CNA) Taiwan stocks opened higher today but fell, reaching a high of 47395.3 points and a low of 46431.38 points during the session, with a high-low volatility of over 900 points. The market closed down, losing 224.23 points.

The weighted stock index closed at 46556.39 points, down 224.23 points, a decrease of 0.48%, with a transaction value of NT$1,019.666 billion.

TSMC closed at NT$2460, up NT$15; Hon Hai closed at NT$242, up NT$1.5; Delta Electronics opened higher but fell, closing at NT$1995, down NT$80. (Editor: Yang Kai-hsiang) 1150706
