Taipower Ball Fun Camp Celebrates 10th Anniversary, Attracting 3,600 Children

(Central News Agency, Taipei, July 7) The Taipower "Ball Fun Camp" kicked off today, offering baseball, volleyball, badminton, soccer, and basketball summer camps in 12 cities and counties. A total of 3,600 children registered for the 12 sessions. Taipower stated that the curriculum incorporates energy-saving promotion and is led by Taipower's national-level star players, allowing children to enjoy the fun of sports.

Taipower issued a press release today stating that the opening ceremony for the 2026 "Ball Fun Camp" was held today at Dongyuan Elementary School in Wanhua District, Taipei City. Taipower General Manager Guo Tianhe, Taipower Labor Union Chairman Wu Youbin, Taipei City Sports Association Baseball Association Chairman Dai Jishang, and other distinguished guests, along with nearly 500 children and parents, attended the event.

Taipower stated that since its inception in 2016, the "Ball Fun Camp" began with baseball as its theme. This year marks its 10th anniversary. To demonstrate Taipower's long-standing commitment to supporting sports, the opening ceremony was held at Dongyuan Elementary School in Taipei City, which won the Little League World Series championship last year. The Taipower baseball team, which has won the National Adult Baseball Spring League championship for consecutive years, was also invited to interact with the children.

Taipower pointed out that this year's event will feature 12 summer camp sessions covering five sports: baseball, volleyball, badminton, soccer, and basketball, in 12 cities and counties across the country. Most sessions were sold out on the first day of registration, attracting a total of 3,600 children. In addition to instruction from Taipower's national-level star players and curriculum integrating energy-saving promotion, each participant will receive an eco-friendly sports jersey made from recycled PET bottles.

Taipower explained that Taipower has been deeply involved in Taiwan's sports scene for 80 years, managing 6 teams and nurturing over 500 national athletes. Since launching the "Ball Fun Camp" in 2016, a total of 80 sessions have been held, accompanying over 22,000 children in experiencing the joy of sports for free.
