(CNA, Keelung, July 7) Police are investigating the alleged child abuse case at Keelung City's "Mei Ren" Kindergarten. Today, they questioned six individuals, including the responsible person surnamed Lin and the principal surnamed Liu. Following questioning, they were transferred to the district prosecutor's office for further interrogation on suspicion of assault and obstruction of child development under the Criminal Code. During the process, victim parents shouted, "Do you have a conscience?"

The Keelung District Prosecutor's Office, investigating the Mei Ren Kindergarten abuse case, today directed the Keelung City Police Bureau's Third Precinct to question six individuals. These include childcare providers Lin Jia-jing and Liu Ke-jie, who have already been named by the Keelung City Government, as well as two kindergarten teachers surnamed Huang and Yang, the principal Ms. Liu, and the responsible person Mr. Lin.

After police took their statements, the six suspects were brought out of the Third Police Precinct around 4 p.m. to be taken to the prosecutor's office for further interrogation. As they were about to get into vehicles, the six suspects, facing media questions such as "Do you regret it?" and "Do you want to apologize to the parents?", put on masks and remained silent.

At this time, two parents who had been waiting outside the precinct for a long time shouted, "Principal, do you have a conscience?" and "Principal, come out, why are you hitting children, abusing them?" Police immediately moved to intervene. Under police escort, the six suspects were taken in three unmarked police cars to the prosecutor's office.

Mr. Zhou had previously stated that his son, who attends Mei Ren Kindergarten, had numerous bruises on both arms. He became suspicious, and his son initially refused to talk. After his wife gradually guided him, their son guiltily confessed that he was pinched by a teacher as punishment for not sleeping during nap time. Subsequently, more parents discovered unexplained bruises on their children. Currently, 10 parents have filed lawsuits. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150707
