Pingtung Launches Incentive Tourism Program to Capture International and Senior Group Market Opportunities

(CNA, reporter Li Hui-ting, Pingtung County, July 7) The Pingtung County Government today launched an incentive tourism program, targeting groups of 10 or more people, with applications now open. The program offers subsidies of up to NT$4,500 per person for international tourist groups and up to NT$4,000 per person for domestic senior groups, aiming to attract tourists for in-depth experiences in Pingtung.

The Pingtung County Government held a press conference today for the "Come to Pingtung Again!" incentive tourism program. Huang Kuo-wei, Director of the County Government's Tourism and Transportation Department, stated at the event that the "Incentive Program for International Tourist Group Arrivals" targets international groups of 10 or more. Upon arranging visits to at least two designated Pingtung attractions and completing a group photo, eligible groups can apply for subsidies according to the regulations.

For accommodation, staying at legal Pingtung accommodations offers a subsidy of up to NT$500 per person per night. If staying at accommodations that have won the "Pingtung Golden Key Award," the subsidy is up to NT$1,000 per person per night, for a maximum of 4 nights. Additionally, each person can apply for up to NT$500 in transportation subsidies, totaling a maximum of NT$4,500 per person.

International tourists entering Pingtung from areas outside Kaohsiung and Pingtung will receive an additional transportation subsidy of up to NT$10,000 per group, helping travel agencies reduce hosting costs and plan more diverse and attractive Pingtung itineraries.

Huang Kuo-wei stated that a "Promotional Incentive Program for Domestic Senior Group Travel" is also being launched. This program is for domestic tourist groups of 10 or more, where at least half of the travelers are aged 65 or above, and they can apply for accommodation subsidies.

Senior groups staying at legal Pingtung accommodations will receive a subsidy of up to NT$500 per person per night. If staying at accommodations that have won the "Pingtung Golden Key Award," the subsidy is up to NT$1,000 per person per night, for a maximum of 4 nights, totaling a maximum of NT$4,000 per person.

The Tourism and Transportation Department announced that applications for the program will be accepted from today until April 30, 2027.
