Hsinchu Baseball Stadium Completes Permeable Asphalt Paving, Begins Artificial Turf Installation

(CNA reporter Kuo Hsuan-ting Hsinchu City, July 7) The Hsinchu City Government announced today that the improvement project for the Municipal Baseball Stadium continues to progress. Permeable asphalt paving has been completed and passed key inspections, confirming the soundness of the underlying foundation. The project has now entered a new phase, with work underway on the base paths, pitcher's mound, and the installation of artificial turf.

The Hsinchu City Government issued a press release today stating that after the improvement project began, priority was given to addressing the stadium's poor drainage and load-bearing issues. The construction team undertook large-scale soil removal and completed the hauling operations, laying the groundwork for subsequent field reconstruction.

The city government stated that after the underlying foundation was prepared, the construction team completed the permeable asphalt paving on June 22. From June 22 to June 26, inspections were conducted for flatness, permeability, material specifications, and the irrigation system. Following joint inspections, all indicators met the design specifications.

The city government said that after the underlying foundation passed inspection, artificial turf has been progressively brought in and is being installed in stages. The infield area is also being worked on, with simultaneous construction of the base paths and pitcher's mound.

The city government pointed out that once the overall project and various ancillary facilities are in place, the stadium will follow professional venue inspection procedures and plan to hold multiple pressure test games. Through actual game operations and on-site testing by professional players and coaches, adjustments will be made regarding field flatness, lighting, drainage performance, and player feedback from actual play.
