(Central News Agency, Reporter Xu Zhiwei, Taipei, July 8) In response to the approaching Typhoon Bavi, the College Entrance Examination Center announced today that the Joint University Entrance Examination Steering Committee's emergency response team meeting has decided to postpone the Subject Test, originally scheduled for July 11 and 12, to July 13 and 14. The time for candidates to view exam venues has been adjusted to 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on July 12.
The College Entrance Examination Center issued a press release today stating that according to the Central Weather Administration's typhoon forecast, Typhoon Bavi may bring strong winds and heavy rain on July 10 and 11, affecting the preparation and conduct of the Subject Test. The "Emergency Response Team Meeting for Major Incidents of the 115 Subject Test" of the Joint University Entrance Examination Steering Committee convened on July 7. After considering the forecast information from the Central Weather Administration, it was decided to postpone the examination to July 13 and 14.
The College Entrance Examination Center mentioned that only the examination dates for this Subject Test have been postponed; the announced examination numbers and locations remain unchanged. Considering that after the typhoon, the examination schools need to organize the environment, clean and disinfect, and set up the venues, the viewing time for each venue has been adjusted from the original July 10 to 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on July 12. Regardless of the candidate's actual examination schedule, they must view their exam venue and seat within the specified time.
In conjunction with the postponement of the Subject Test to July 13 and 14, the relevant examination schedule has also been adjusted. The Subject Test results will be announced on August 3, and the application period for score review will be adjusted to August 3 to 6.
The College Entrance Examination Center reminds candidates to try to leave early on the day of the examination to avoid being late due to transportation issues and to avoid crowds when entering the examination schools. After the typhoon, there may still be rain in various areas, and the roads may be slippery. Whether walking, riding a motorcycle, or driving a vehicle, special attention should be paid to traffic and pedestrian safety.
The College Entrance Examination Center stated that if a candidate's place of residence is affected by Typhoon Bavi on the day of the examination and recovery is insufficient, leading to the suspension of work and classes announced by the county or city government, the candidate may need to leave early to reach the examination location, incurring transportation costs. Additional expenses for accommodation near the examination school the day before the exam can be reimbursed by the College Entrance Examination Center with supporting documents and receipts after the exam. The conditions and methods for reimbursement will be announced separately.
The College Entrance Examination Center pointed out that the postponement of the examination dates is based on the resolution of the Joint University Entrance Examination Steering Committee's emergency response team meeting. If the typhoon's slow movement or expanded impact continues to affect the examination, further adjustments may be made depending on the situation. Candidates and parents are advised to pay close attention to the latest information released by the Joint University Entrance Examination Steering Committee and the College Entrance Examination Center.
