Taipei, Jul. 8 (CNA) Network communications brand D-Link Corporation announced today its entry into the critical supply chain of American aerospace manufacturer SpaceX. D-Link will supply network switches specifically for data exchange nodes for SpaceX's groundbreaking Starlink low-Earth orbit satellite internet service. Shipments are scheduled to begin in September of this year, with an estimated annual shipment volume of 20,000 units.
D-Link stated that considering the extreme requirements for information security and geopolitical risk in aerospace-grade communications, all products for this project are "Made in Taiwan" and comply with the highest standards of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which strictly prohibits the procurement of communication equipment from specific Chinese brands, and the Trade Agreements Act (TAA) regulations.
In addition to achieving success in the U.S. aerospace supply chain, D-Link announced a significant breakthrough in the European telecommunications core market by partnering with a leading German cross-border broadband and telecommunications network operator. In this highly significant telecommunications project, D-Link leverages its high-performance "Made in Taiwan" quality to provide this emerging telecom operator with 4G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) equipment designed for high-density urban communication environments.
D-Link pointed out that the aforementioned equipment is primarily paired with its mobile data plans and is specifically offered to a wide range of business and individual users utilizing laptops without SIM modules, enabling them to enjoy mobile internet services anytime, anywhere. It also serves as a temporary alternative internet solution for new fixed-line customers before physical line activation, fully ensuring the continuity of user network experience. This project is expected to begin shipping by the end of 2026, with a total quantity of 50,000 units, assisting the client in the flexible deployment of high-bandwidth infrastructure networks in metropolitan areas.
