(Central News Agency, Reporter Tseng Jen-kai, Taipei, 8th) Shortages and price hikes of components like memory chips have dragged down notebook shipments. Casing manufacturer Catcher Technology today announced its June revenue of NT$805 million, down 12.3% month-on-month and 55.1% year-on-year. Catcher stated that some AI-related projects entered mass production in June, and revenue is expected to improve month-on-month starting in July.
Catcher's second-quarter revenue was NT$2.681 billion, down 29% quarter-on-quarter and 47.3% year-on-year; first-half revenue was NT$6.455 billion, down 31.6% year-on-year.
Catcher explained that due to the shortage of electronic components, notebook product shipments were affected, leading to June revenue performance below expectations. However, some AI-related projects began entering mass production in June, and revenue is expected to improve month-on-month starting in July.
Looking ahead, Catcher stated that in addition to the continued ramp-up of existing AI products, other AI server projects are expected to gradually enter mass production starting in the first quarter of 2027. AI PCs (Artificial Intelligence Personal Computers) are also expected to start contributing significant revenue from the second quarter of next year, boosting operational growth momentum.
