Fire at construction site in Nantun, Taichung; firefighters extinguish blaze, no one trapped

TAICHUNG, Taiwan (CNA) -- A fire broke out on the 14th floor of a construction site in Nantun District, Taichung City, this evening. The Fire Bureau was notified and dispatched fire trucks and personnel to the scene. Initial inspection found no one trapped, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by police and firefighters.

The Taichung City Fire Bureau received a report at 8:32 PM today regarding a construction site fire at the intersection of Longfu 10th Road and Longzhen 2nd Street in Nantun District, and immediately dispatched fire trucks and personnel to the scene.

Firefighters stated that the fire occurred on the 14th floor of a construction site under development. Water lines were deployed for firefighting, and initial inspections confirmed no one was trapped. The Fourth Precinct of the Taichung City Police Bureau also dispatched officers to the scene to control surrounding traffic. The cause of the fire is under investigation by police and firefighters.
