Formosa Plastics Old Headquarters Redevelopment Site Collapses, Gas Leak Under Emergency Control

(Central News Agency, Taipei, July 8) A redevelopment project for the former Formosa Plastics corporate headquarters building on Alley 199, Dunhua North Road, Songshan District, Taipei City, experienced a gas leak and road surface collapse accident this morning. Formosa Plastics confirmed a minor collapse at the construction site and that emergency measures are underway.

A Formosa Plastics executive stated that the redevelopment of the old building is currently under construction. The continuous wall at the site experienced a minor collapse. As there is a gas pipe nearby, there was some gas leakage, which is currently being handled with emergency measures.
