Taipei, July 8 (CNA) Taishin-Shin Kong Life announced the launch of its sports empowerment program, adding breakdancing, taekwondo, and esports to its supported disciplines. Regarding the group's potential entry into professional baseball, Taishin-Shin Kong Life General Manager Lin Wei-chun stated today that it requires the right timing, location, and people, such as someone willing to sell a team.

Taishin-Shin Kong Life held the launch ceremony for its sports empowerment program today, with Lin Wei-chun, Shin Kong Life General Manager Huang Min-yi, Taishin Bank General Manager Lin Shu-chen, and Private Banking CEO Lin Shang-kai in attendance.

Taishin-Shin Kong Life's sports empowerment program targets six specialized areas. In addition to existing disciplines of golf, karate, and basketball, it has added breakdancing, taekwondo, and esports.

Athletes sponsored by Taishin-Shin Kong Financial Holding and its subsidiaries, including golfer Chien Pei-yun, karateka Ku Tsui-ping, Taipei Taishin Mars player Raymond, and newly supported taekwondo athlete Lo Chia-ling, appeared in their official competition attire.

Lin Wei-chun said that after the merger of Taishin-Shin Kong Financial Holding, it was discovered that many subsidiaries were involved in sports. Therefore, through this long-term program, in addition to sponsoring top sports events, they hope to foster grassroots support by planning training camps for children in football, basketball, karate, and esports.

He chuckled, recalling that he himself received training at the National Sports Training Center as a table tennis player in junior high school. If he had been selected then, he might have become a national player. Now, he plays golf, which is also a kind of 'little white ball' sport.

Lin Wei-chun emphasized that what a company takes from society, it should give back. Supporting sports is not just about sponsoring competitions, but more importantly, about establishing a long-term talent development mechanism. Taishin-Shin Kong Life will integrate the group's resources and experience to build a comprehensive blueprint from supporting athletes to promoting mass sports, becoming the strongest backing for outstanding athletes.

In anticipation of the Asian Games in September, Lin Wei-chun announced that athletes sponsored by Taishin-Shin Kong Life who qualify for the Asian Games will receive a commendation bonus, and those who win medals in the competition will be awarded generous bonuses to encourage athletes to continue breaking through their limits and strive for glory for the country at the Asian Games.

In response to media inquiries about Taishin-Shin Kong Financial Holding Chairman Wu Dong-liang's revelation at the shareholders' meeting that entry into professional baseball is being planned, Lin Wei-chun explained that Taishin-Shin Kong Financial Holding is willing and interested in further research. However, this is not a short-term goal. If the opportunity arises, they will not rule out entering this field, but it also requires the right timing, location, and people, such as someone willing to sell a team.

Taishin-Shin Kong Life stated that in addition to the existing sports of golf, karate, and basketball, the current sports empowerment program has added breakdancing, taekwondo, and esports. It also includes "Little Empowerment Camps" where sponsored athletes serve as coaches, planning training camps for football, basketball, karate, and esports, thereby passing on the passion, courage, and joy brought by sports to more children.
