It later turned negative and fluctuated. Major stocks like TSMC and Yageo saw small gains, UMC surged over 6%; PCB stocks such as the three major substrate makers and three major CCL makers rebounded, while drone concept stocks continued to strengthen.

Investor concerns over the uncertain future of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry dragged down technology stocks, leading to a sharp decline in US stocks; the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunged 4.65%. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's ADR (American Depositary Receipt) fell 4.25%.

The Taiwan stock market opened higher against the trend today, recovering the monthly moving average in early trading and reaching 45837 points, up 358 points, before fluctuating and turning negative.

Around 11:30 AM, the Taiwan Weighted Stock Index was up 211 points, at 45690 points, a gain of 0.46%; electronics stocks rose 0.31%, and financial stocks rose 1.23%. The OTC Index rose 0.24%.

Observing the performance of major stocks, TSMC saw a small intraday gain of 5 NT dollars, closing at 2445 NT dollars, a 0.2% increase; UMC rose over 6%, Yageo gained 0.3%; MediaTek and Delta Electronics fluctuated lower.

Substrate and CCL sectors surged. Among the three major substrate makers, Nan Ya PCB and Kinsus Mototronics hit the daily limit, and Unimicron Technology rose over 4%; Zhen Ding Technology rose over 5%, and the three major CCL makers, Taiflex Scientific, Lotte Chemical, and TAIYO YUDEN, surged.

Drone concept stocks continued to strengthen, with Evergreen Aviation Technologies hitting the daily limit, Protron Inc. rising over 9%, Advantech hitting the daily limit, and Coretronic Corporation and E-ONE Technology rising over 7%.

Observing the trend of high-priced stocks, the stock king, Realtek Semiconductor, fell over 1%, while Chunghwa Precision Test Technology and Wha-Lian Industrial fell over 4%; UMC Electronics rose to break the 2000 NT dollar mark, and G-SHOCK fell below 1000 NT dollars, with Taiwan stocks having 49 stocks priced above 1000 NT dollars during the session.
