Taiwan Roster Announced for Four Nations Elite Baseball Tournament, CPBL to Support 6 Players

(CNA Taipei, July 8) The inaugural Four Nations Elite Baseball Tournament will be held in Taichung from July 11 to 15. The Taiwanese team announced its roster today, primarily for preparation for the U23 Baseball World Cup. The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) will also support the participation of 6 active players to gain experience in international competitions.

The Four Nations Elite Baseball Tournament is a collaborative effort between the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association, USA Baseball, and the All Japan University Baseball Federation. It operates on a rotating host system among the three countries, with the option to invite a fourth team. This year marks the first edition, hosted in Taiwan, bringing together baseball talents from the USA, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan for exchange.

The Taiwanese roster includes 6 CPBL players: Wu Cheng-hao and Tseng Sheng-an from the Wei Chuan Dragons, Chang Chao-hung and Ho Pin-shih-jung from the Rakuten Monkeys, and Tsai Yung-chieh and Hsu Ting-lun from the CTBC Brothers. Additionally, players selected in this year's CPBL draft, Chen Chao-yi-hsun, Li Sung-jui, Yen Cheng-en, Huang Chieh-han, Li Sheng-han, and Shirai Yuto, are also included.

Tang Teng-kai will serve as the head coach for the Taiwanese team, which will be primarily composed of the U23 Baseball World Cup training squad, supplemented by some members of the Asian Games training team. The CPBL clubs, aiming to enhance international exchange experience and exposure to different levels of competition, are supporting the participation of their young players.
