(Central News Agency, Ankara, Nov. 8, Comprehensive Foreign News) A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that U.S. President Trump told NATO allies today during a closed-door meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) leaders' summit in the Turkish capital Ankara that he hopes the United States will remain in NATO.

The source, who requested anonymity, revealed that Trump (Donald Trump) also said during the meeting that the United States is prepared to continue selling weapons to allies, regardless of how they are used.

According to this person, Trump told the leaders of NATO member states: "We want to continue to be with you."

The White House did not immediately comment on Trump's remarks during the meeting.

Sources said that during the meeting, Trump did not reiterate his criticism of NATO ally Spain, nor did he mention his announcement to terminate the temporary ceasefire agreement with Iran.

Trump also did not mention the issue of Greenland, which has caused friction within NATO.

Trump had earlier ordered a halt to trade with Spain due to disputes over defense spending and the war in Iran. (Compiled by Yang Zhaoyan) 1150708
