(Central News Agency, Kinmen, July 8) Chinese Coast Guard vessels intruded into Kinmen's waters today, with Coast Guard patrol boats maintaining parallel surveillance. The Coast Guard Administration's Kinma-Penghu Branch stated that the Chinese Coast Guard's harassment in the gray zone before the typhoon is irrational and unprofessional, disrupting regional peace and stability and increasing maritime navigation risks.

The Ocean Affairs Council's Coast Guard Administration Kinma-Penghu Branch stated in a press release that while Typhoon Bavi is gradually approaching Taiwan and all regions are fully engaged in typhoon preparedness, the Chinese Coast Guard continues to operate in the waters around Kinmen, attempting to continue gray zone harassment during the busy pre-typhoon duty period.

The Kinma-Penghu Branch pointed out that at around 8 a.m. today, four Chinese Coast Guard vessels, identified as "14533," "14605," "14530," and "14602," were detected operating in two groups in the waters south of Kinmen and heading towards Kinmen's restricted waters, with clear intentions of harassment. Four patrol boats were immediately dispatched for one-on-one parallel surveillance, with full evidence collection. Through Chinese and English radio broadcasts, the Chinese Coast Guard vessels were ordered to leave immediately. Under the Coast Guard boats' continuous parallel surveillance, close monitoring, and broadcast warnings, the Chinese Coast Guard vessels departed at 11:13 a.m.

The Kinma-Penghu Branch stated that in the face of the approaching typhoon, the Coast Guard Administration is not only preparing for disaster prevention and rescue efforts but also maintaining vigilance in maritime security and sovereignty protection duties. The Chinese Coast Guard's continued gray zone harassment on the eve of the typhoon's passage disrupts regional peace and stability and increases maritime navigation risks, demonstrating that their harassment activities are not only irrational but also unprofessional.

The Kinma-Penghu Branch emphasized that a comprehensive response mechanism has been established for Chinese gray zone harassment. High-intensity monitoring, rapid response, and meticulous deployment will be maintained to resolutely defend national sovereignty and safeguard maritime security. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150708
