(CNA website) The Central Weather Administration predicts that Typhoon Bavi, the ninth typhoon of the year, will be closest to Taiwan on July 10th and 11th. It is estimated that the highest probability is for it to pass by the waters northeast of Taiwan, but if it interacts with the terrain, it cannot be ruled out that it may get closer to Taiwan. CNA has compiled the following transportation and event adjustments across various regions:
China Airlines announced on the 8th that passengers holding China Airlines tickets for travel between July 9th and 11th of this year will be exempt from change fees if they modify their bookings before July 31st.
Cathay Pacific announced on the 7th that it will waive rebooking and routing change fees for "flights to and from Taipei and Kaohsiung." This applies to tickets issued before July 6th or with original travel dates between the 9th and 11th. Passengers must complete changes by the 11th, with the rescheduled departure date no later than August 31st.
All eastern routes will be suspended from the afternoon of the 8th until the 11th. The Keelung-Matsu and Yanpu-Xiaoliuqiu routes will be fully suspended from the 9th to the 11th. The Donggang-Xiaoliuqiu route will have partial suspensions on the 9th and full suspension from the 10th to the 11th. The Kaohsiung-Penghu route's originally scheduled morning flight on the 10th will be moved to 11:00 AM on the 9th, the flight on the 10th will be suspended, and there will be no flights on the 11th.
The originally scheduled Penghu to Kaohsiung flight at 9:00 AM on the 10th will be moved to 11:00 AM on July 9th; the 3:30 PM flight will be canceled.
The originally scheduled Kaohsiung to Penghu flight at 11:30 PM on the 10th will be canceled.
Taichung City announced a complete restriction on access to the Xue Mountain Trail and the popular scenic spot "Giant's Hand" road.
The Subject Test for the 115th academic year, originally scheduled for July 11th and 12th, has been postponed to July 13th and 14th.
The Taipei Film Festival awards ceremony has been postponed to the 12th.
Lu Guangzhong's concert at the Taipei Pop Music Center on the 10th has been postponed to the 13th.
The performances "WILD WILD 2026 1ST FAN LIVE in Taipei : AFTER HOURS" on the 10th and 11th have been canceled.
The Korean wave concert "2026 KOREA HOT TAIPEI" on the 11th has been canceled.
Zhang Xiuqing's concert tour at the Great Tainan Exhibition Center on the 11th has been postponed.
The "2026 Taoyuan Land Art Festival" organized by the Taoyuan City Government will be temporarily closed from the 10th to the 15th.
The "Pingtung 3D Tourism Carnival - Pingtung Super Travel Experience" series of events, scheduled to be held at Hengchun Airport from the 10th to the 12th, has been canceled by the Pingtung County Government for this year's Hengchun Airport activities and the first tour group itinerary.
The parent-child reading theater event "Childhood Painting Neiwan 2.0" in Hengshan Township, Hsinchu County, scheduled for the 11th, has been postponed to the 19th.
The "2026 Taoyuan Master Chef Banquet Event," scheduled for the 11th, is tentatively postponed to the 26th.
The 2026 Jiji Children's Fun Fair and Water Resources Promotion Activity "Little Pirates' Water Quest," scheduled for the 11th, has been postponed to the 18th.
Wuling, Cingjing, and Fushoushan Farms will implement precautionary closures starting at 12:00 PM on the 9th.
