Typhoon Bavi Approaches, Taipingshan to Implement Precautionary Closure from Noon on July 9

(CNA, Yilan, July 8) - With Typhoon Bavi approaching, the Yilan Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency announced today that considering tourist safety, Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area and its 8 nature trails will be closed as a precautionary measure starting at noon tomorrow. The park will only allow departures, not entries, and urges visitors to leave the area as soon as possible.

The Yilan Branch stated that considering the possibility of road closures or disruptions due to heavy rain on sections of Yizhuan Line within the Taipingshan area, as well as the connecting roads Provincial Highway 7, Provincial Highway 7A, and Yiwu Line, the decision has been made to close the park from noon tomorrow.

The Yilan Branch pointed out that the Jiuzezhi Nature Trail, Jianqing HuaiGu Trail, Cypress Primitive Forest Trail, Hemlock Forest Nature Trail, Maoxing Nostalgia Trail, Cuifeng Lake Ring Trail, Wangyangshan Trail, and Taiwan Beech Trail within the park will be closed simultaneously. The last train for the Beng Beng train will be at 10:30 AM, and the last guided tour at the original Taipingshan Club will be at 10:50 AM.

The Yilan Branch announced that 10 community-based nature trails under its jurisdiction, including Linmeishipan Trail, Jiaoxi Paoma Ancient Trail, Shengmu Mountain Trail, Quantoumu Nature Trail, Xinliao Waterfall Trail, Jiulaoxi Nature Trail, Songluo Trail, Zhaoyang Trail, Nan'ao Ancient Trail, and JinGualiao Fish Fern Trail, will be temporarily closed starting at 5:00 PM tomorrow. If the Yilan County Government announces a suspension of work and classes, the Luodong Forestry Culture Park will also be closed concurrently. (Editor: Li Hengshan) 1150708
